Who We Are
A studio built on craft and passion
Savuti Taxidermy is a professional taxidermy studio based at 18 3rd St, Delarey, Randburg, 2114. Our location sits at the heart of South Africa, within easy reach of the country’s premier hunting regions and export routes.
We are a team of skilled artisans who share a genuine passion for wildlife and the hunting tradition. Taxidermy is a demanding craft. It blends artistry, anatomy, patience, and technical knowledge into one discipline. A great mount must look alive the eyes holding expression, the muscles sitting correctly beneath the skin, the posture reflecting the true character of the animal.
“Leaders in Excellence,” is not a slogan we hang on the wall and forget.
It is the standard we hold ourselves to with every hide, every mount, and every client relationship we build. We preserve the spirit of the hunt with unmatched skill, so that a moment in the field becomes a lasting tribute to the wild. Because a trophy is never just a mount it is a work of art and a symbol of your adventure in Africa.
Our Process & Commitment to Quality
A system built around quality
At Savuti, we take pride in a well-structured, efficient system that allows our skilled taxidermists the space and time they need to deliver world-class craftsmanship. Our processes are built around quality from the moment your trophy arrives to the final touches ensuring every stage is supervised and carefully checked to maintain the highest standards.
Proper field preparation of animal skins after harvesting is critical to preserving trophy quality and ensuring a smooth taxidermy and export process. Throughout this process, the key is cleanliness, attention to detail, and urgency. Dirty environments, improper cuts, or skipped steps will almost always result in degraded trophies.
Good field preparation sets the stage for a high-quality final mount and greatly reduces the risk of issues during taxidermy or international shipment.
Our Taxidermy Services
One trusted studio for every need
We offer a complete range of taxidermy solutions, so you can rely on one trusted studio for every need, big or small. Here is what we create.
African Game Mounts
African game is our speciality, and it is where our expertise truly shines. We produce expert mounts of the continent’s magnificent wildlife, including kudu, eland, waterbuck, wildebeest etc, along with the full range of plains game. Our deep familiarity with African species allows us to capture each animal with remarkable realism and dignity.
Custom Mounts
Every custom mount is tailored to your vision. We work with you to choose the pose, angle, and setting that best capture the character of your animal and the memory behind it.
Bird Taxidermy
Birds demand a delicate touch. From majestic birds of prey to smaller, intricate species, our specialists preserve every feather with meticulous care. The result is a graceful, natural piece that captures the bird in a moment of life.
Fish Replicas
Our lifelike fish replicas capture the vivid colours and fine detail of your catch. Because fish colours fade quickly after landing, a well-crafted replica keeps your trophy looking vibrant and true for years to come.
European Mounts
For a cleaner, more understated style, our European mounts display the skull and horns in an elegant, bleached form. They suit both traditional and modern interiors, and honour your trophy without a full skin mount.

Two Options for International Hunters
Choose the path that fits your hunt
We know international hunters have different needs, preferences, and home-country requirements. That is why we offer two clear processing options, each giving you control and confidence. Both options share the same foundation: meticulous preparation, secure packing, and full regulatory compliance. Whichever path you choose, our packaging is engineered to protect your trophies in transit and clients consistently receive their work in perfect, damage-free condition.
Fully Processed
With our Fully Processed service, your trophies are professionally mounted by our team right here in South Africa. We handle everything preparation, tanning, mounting, detailing, and final review before packing and shipping your finished mounts to you abroad. When they arrive, they are ready to hang and enjoy immediately.
Dip and Pack
We offer Dip and Pack services. We thoroughly clean, treat, dip, and pack your trophies to meet strict biosecurity and veterinary standards. This protects the destination country’s biosecurity and satisfies its import authorities.

Approved, Compliant, and International
Peace of mind, on paper
Moving hunting trophies across borders demands meticulous attention to legal detail. This is where Savuti offers genuine expertise and real peace of mind.
We process the export paperwork provided that valid hunting permits and field papers have already been secured by your hunting outfitter. Your outfitter arranges the hunting authorisations in the field; once those are in place, we take over the export side. This careful, compliant approach protects both you and your trophy from costly delays.
International hunters are at the heart of what we do. We serve hunters who pursue game in South Africa and surrounding African countries, so one reliable partner can handle everything no matter where your adventure takes you.
Veterinary-approved facility
We are fully authorised to handle international exports and the documentation that accompanies them.
South African law
We operate in full accordance with the National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act (NEMBA) and the Threatened or Protected Species (TOPS) regulations.
CITES compliance
We prepare the correct paperwork for CITES-listed species and work to meet the import conditions of each receiving nation.
Export documentation
We coordinate veterinary clearance, CITES documents where applicable, and the export permits your trophies need to travel legally home.

Long-term partners, not one-off customers
We view outfitters and professional hunters as long-term partners, not once-off customers. Trophies can be collected regularly from hunting farms, with each hunter’s specific instructions carefully recorded and followed for every individual piece.
This reliable collection service lets outfitters promise their guests a seamless post-hunt experience. And because high-quality mounts are powerful marketing assets, we help outfitters strengthen their reputation and build repeat business with hunters around the world.
