About Us

Leaders in Excellence

OUR STORY

Our Story and Founding Philosophy

Savuti Taxidermy was built on a simple belief: a trophy is never just a mount. It is a work of art, a tribute to the wild, and a lasting symbol of your adventure in Africa. That belief shaped our studio from the very beginning, and it still guides every decision we make today.

Our motto, “Leaders in Excellence,” is not a slogan we hang on the wall and forget. It is the standard we measure ourselves against with every hide, every mount, and every client relationship we build. Excellence, to us, means refusing to settle. It means treating each trophy with respect and restoring it to its fullest potential, using every detail the hide allows.

We understand that hunting is more than a sport. It is a lifelong passion, a connection to the land, and a source of memories that deserve to last for generations. When you entrust a trophy to us, you are not simply placing an order. You are asking us to help immortalise a moment that will never come again. We take that responsibility seriously, and it is the heartbeat of everything we do.

WHERE TO FIND US

At the Heart of South Africa

Our studio is located at 18 3rd St, Delarey, Randburg, 2114. This places us at the heart of South Africa, within easy reach of the country’s premier hunting regions and major export routes.

For our clients, this location is a genuine practical advantage. Trophies can move quickly and reliably between the field, our studio, and the shipping channels that carry them home.

For outfitters and hunters travelling from abroad, it means one trusted partner sits close to both the action and the paperwork. You are always welcome to visit us in person to discuss your trophies, view our work, and meet the team.

OUR TEAM

Our Team and Passion for African Wildlife

Taxidermy is a demanding craft. It blends artistry, anatomy, patience, and technical knowledge into a single discipline. A great mount must look alive. The eyes must hold expression, the muscles must sit correctly beneath the skin, and the posture must reflect the true character of the animal. Achieving this takes years of experience and an unwavering commitment to detail.

Our team brings exactly that. Every member of our studio is selected for both talent and dedication, and each brings specialised expertise to the work.

  • Some specialise in the delicate art of bird taxidermy, where a single misplaced feather can spoil the whole piece.
  • Others focus on large African game, where scale and structure demand strength as well as finesse.
  • Together, they form a studio capable of handling any trophy, from the smallest songbird to the grandest plains game.

What unites us is a shared passion for African wildlife and the hunting tradition. We know how a kudu holds its head, how an eland carries its bulk, and how the light catches the coat of a waterbuck. That deep familiarity is not something you can fake. It is the difference between a mount that merely resembles an animal and one that truly captures its living presence.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

Four Principles, Every Single Day

They explain how we operate and what you can expect when you choose Savuti.

VETERINARY APPROVED

A Veterinary-Approved Facility

Savuti Taxidermy is a veterinary-approved facility, fully authorised to handle international exports and all the required legal documentation. This status matters enormously, especially for international hunters.

Moving hunting trophies across borders demands meticulous attention to detail. Our approval means we can prepare, treat, and clear your trophies for export within a framework that satisfies both South African authorities and the import requirements of your home country. For you, that translates into fewer complications, smoother customs clearance, and real peace of mind.

COMPLIANCE

Our Commitment to Compliance

Legal integrity underpins everything we do. The handling, processing, and export of wildlife trophies is tightly regulated, and rightly so. We regard full compliance as a fundamental duty, not an inconvenience. Within South Africa, we operate in full accordance with national legislation, including:

  • NEMBA — the National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act, which governs how protected and regulated species may be handled, processed, and exported.
  • TOPS — the Threatened or Protected Species regulations, which protect South Africa’s wildlife heritage and ensure the industry operates responsibly.

Alongside domestic law, we comply with international wildlife trade regulations under CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. For CITES-listed animals, the correct paperwork is essential, and errors can cause costly delays. Our team stays current with these requirements and prepares every document with care.

This dual commitment means your trophies are prepared and exported within a framework that respects conservation obligations, national requirements, and the laws of your home country.
